ode to sunshine

Hello! my name is Maya Gitana, I'm 15 years old and live in a place that's a city so it has smog and a lame view of the stars and not a lot of pretty trees or flowers or nature, but is still too small to be exciting and unexpected and have the culture that big cities have. I live in a little condo that looks exactly the same as all the others in its row. I have no religion but try to be respectful to others beliefs unless they they think it gives them the right to preach to others and make decisions that are not in their hands or right. i am strong supporter of gay marriage and rights. I am vegetarian and believe in animal rights and do not by any means support factory farming. i enjoy the ideals of the 60s hippie counter culture movement of free love and peace. If i can find a way I'd love to go to peace marches if they still exist. I try to be open-minded about as many things as I can , and though I don't always succeed I respect those who do. I'd love to read books on Philosophy and I enjoy the beautiful, poetic, dreamy, and floaty magic quality of Shakespeare but also am a Harry Potter fan, I won't deny it. My sister thinks I'll find my place on tumblr. I suppose I'll find out! I love music like Blind Melon, Led Zeppelin, The BEATLES, Elton John, THe Frattelis, the Smashing Pumpkins, Sublime, Nirvana, Hole, Heart, Queen, mostly old stuff, however I am a huge fan of Green Day. Last sumer they were my first real rock concert. I am currently watching Dazed and Confused, a fabulous movie, but my favorite movie is Across the Universe. My favorite place is the world is this magical gorgeous place called the Mill. I wish I could just live there forever. I am trying to teach myself how to play the piano and the guitar and hope to be taking a dance class soon, preferably something ballroom or possibly flamenco or maybe tango! My gorgeous, sweet, smart sister is the real artist of the family but i still enjoy doing crafts and drawings when i get over feeling discouraged and i really enjoy sewing and sometimes try to make clothes of my own, thought it doesn't always turn out favorably. One of my favorite things to do is sit and think, if possible in a quiet shady place like in the grass under a tree or write in a journal or a letter to someone. i enjoy intellectual conversations and watching movies or being by myself, left to my own thoughts, I dress however I fancy that day. My wish is not to have a perfect life or to end up rich or anything.I just want to find happiness in my life, peace with myself, and die satisfied that I have really and truly had a LIFE and lived it thoroughly.
